Decorating shoes with a goal in mind....

My quilt shoes need a sister pair!
Remember my quilt show shoes? Quilting is my main thing, but decorating shoes is something I also love to do. People asking me to decorate theirs, and I do, although I didn't post the pictures here. And even now, months after posting about my quilt shoes, people are reacting to the post. How I made them, what they need, where to find the material. And I love to talk about that!

So, you'll hear more about decorating shoes in the upcoming time. It's so much fun to have your own pair of shoes! Next week I have a week off and am planning on decorating a pair of light shoes for a friend of mine. She has particularly difficult feet and found the greatest shoes in the world. In white. No other color available. I will decorate them and make them wearable for an everyday shoe at the office, with some extra to make them hers. It will be a very individual pair, nowhere else available. And as she is unique and special to me, I think her shoes should be!

And I will definitely have to start designing a new pair of my own, because....

I will be going to AQS Michigan Quiltshow!

I know, it's August, it's far, far away, but knowing to be at two quiltshows this year, Houston and Michigan, is really great. And as I am not a member of a Dutch quilt guild, and only of American Quilter's Society, I am literally coming back to my home quilt group.;-) They might be called the American Quilter's Society, I, as a plain Dutch girl, feel at home with them. I was in Paducah last May, and I met so many great people! So my new pair of quilt shoes will be prepared with Michigan in mind for the future, and the great atmosphere in Paducah as an inspiration.

The upcoming week I'll be busy with two pairs of shoes, one for my friend, and a pair for me. I'll show you what I start with, and I show you where it ends up. I hope you'll be surprised!

Have fun quilting!
