2012 with Splinter's Delight

I did it! At 7.15 PM 31 December 2011 I stitched the final stitches on the top of Splinter's Delight!
Splinter's Delight
It was a race against the clock, but I made it! And can you imagine that in this purple yellow quilt are the most ugly fabrics (to me that is!) incorporated? Look at these!
How about this psychedelic one?
And this large flower red and purple one?

Next step: getting batting and backing. The quilt will be machine quilted in a very simple and straight way with a purple variegated cotton.

And in the mean time? I promised myself to finish my Broken Star in 2012. So I'll be sitting a lot with Alice, handquilting. It will be a lot slower than this machine quilt, but I hope as much fun!

Have fun quilting!

Je top ziet er fantastisch uit. Heb je al een idee hoe je hem gaat quilten?

Prachtig geworden.
Ja die lelijke stoffen zie je in het geheel helemaal niet, hoewel ik ze niet lelijk vindt.
Quilt groetjes Anja.

Great quilt and looks like you'll stay busy with your next one. I am still trying to figure a way to bring my hand quilting frame up from our basement so that I can hand quilt upstairs. I've been busy with rearranging a few things ;)

Have a wonderful New Year!

You've inspired me to grab the lap star quilt I've been working on for over a year now. I've only got two blocks left to finish hand quilting. Gorgeous piece. :)

I love it! I understand that you may think the fabrics are ugly, but the entire quilt is beautiful! Please stop by my blog, I love to 'meet' quilters from interesting places.

PS - I was so fortunate to be in the Netherlands a year ago. We were in such a hurry, but we had a wonderful time. Hope to be back soon.
